GOI declared Jamaat e Islami as 'unlawful association' for five years | KNO

Srinagar, February 28 (KNO) : The Government of India today declared Jamaat-e-Islami as the unlawful association citing a series of reasons including the one they JeI supports militants and secession of Kashmir. "Centre has declared JEI as an unlawful association under section 3 of the Unlawful activities (prevention act, 1967)," reads an official order.of the ministry of home affairs. According to the KNO, the order further states that the JEI is working to carve Islamic State out of Jammu and Kashmir while.disputing the accession. The order further states that the JEI will remain unlawful association for a period of five years.(KNO)
